Climate change is generally accepted to be one of the greatest environmental challenges facing global communities in the 21st century. There is growing evidence that manmade emissions are contributing disproportionately to the effect. Governments around the world recognise the need to stabilise and reduce the level of emissions and are committed to this objective. Renewable energy resources are seen as a way of achieving substantive reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. The future growth in renewable energy will be significant. and offshore resources such as wind and wave power will provide much of this growth. e+p believe that the UK is uniquely placed to take advantage of the available "free" wind power. Because of the environmental impact of large windfarms it is likely that they will be sited in offshore locations where their visual impact is much reduced. e+p have the necessary marine technology expertise to support clients in this new area. We have substantial experience of working in the aggressive environments around the UKCS and have delivered many offshore projects against intense schedules. e+p consultants understand the legislative and safety regimes operating
in our offshore waters. We can support client developments through the
internal and external approval phases of a project and also through
the engineering, procurement, installation and final commissioning stages. |
